Yasawa Island Resort and Spa – How to get there

The adults-only Yasawa Resort is accessible only by the resort’s private aircraft that takes off from Nadi international. The flight is a 30-minute affair, providing guests with a bird’s-eye view of the locale, followed by a quick transfer to the resort. Throw in the resort’s remote location and the absence of any other commercial establishment, and what you have is an unmatched oasis of privacy and tranquillity.

Accommodations at the Yasawa Resort

18 traditional thatched bures dot the resort’s glittering white sands, each to them well-appointed with modern luxuries that makes for a pleasant stay. Each bure features a discreet outdoor shower, an expansive deck with daybeds, hammocks between the palm trees and a private cabana with sun loungers – right on the water’s edge. These accommodations have a separate living space with a mini-bar stocked with choicest labels, for added indulgence.

The corals are located close to the resort and make for some envious diving site – arranged for an additional charge. However, PADI courses and certification is complimentary for first-time divers. Included in daily tariffs are half-a-day trips to the Blue Lagoon Caves and hosts of other activities like guided snorkelling sessions, kayaking, paddleboarding and guided walks around the island. Cultural visits to the villages can be arranged with prior permission of the village chiefs.

A visit to the nearby village of Bukama is an excellent option; here, guests get to partake in traditional Meke (dance) and Kava (drinking) ceremonies and sample the indigenous lifestyle that has remained unchanged for centuries.
