Guests can choose from a variety of accommodation options at the White Grass Ocean Resort & Spa. Each of the units feature queen-sized or twin beds, ensuite bathrooms, locally sourced hardwood furniture, ceiling fans and artwork by local artistes.
The resort’s restaurant and bar is set on a rugged hill with fantastic views of the ocean. The menu changes daily and features the best of the island’s fresh produce, seafood and world-famous Santo beef. The bar is well-stocked with New Zealand, French and Australian wines, along with Vanuatu’s famous Tusker beer. Hot Tip: Keep an eye out for views of playful dolphins and whales while sipping on a cold beer on the restaurant’s outside deck!
When it comes to experiences, White Grass Ocean Resort & Spa has gone the extra mile. There is excellent swimming and snorkelling off the beach in the crystal-clear waters surrounding Tanna. But although Tanna is great for all above activities, they’re by no way it’s biggest draw. That position would go to the rumbling and perpetually-smoking Mount Yasur volcano. One of the very few active volcanoes in the world that are safe enough to visit, Mount Yasur is an awe-inspiring spectacle in itself. Covered in ash-resistant anoraks, travellers have to trek up a short distance after an exciting 4×4 offroad ride. The evening trek up the mountain is especially sought-after, as the glowing heart of the volcano stands out against the dark of the night. Basically, it’s nothing less than a magical experience.
