Following the earthquake that occurred on December 17, 2024, the Holiday Inn Resort Vanuatu has been working tirelessly to assess the damage, make repairs, and prepare to welcome guests back to paradise. We’re thrilled to share an update on their progress and announce their reopening plans.

Repairs Underway, Reopening on the Horizon

After a thorough assessment by structural engineers, repair work is now well underway at the resort. The Seaside Wing, along with several key facilities, are receiving the attention and care they need to be restored to their former glory. This includes the pools, gym, tennis court, spa, and the beloved Verandah Restaurant.

The resort is excited to announce that it will reopen its doors to holidaymakers starting August 1, 2025. This means travellers can once again experience Port Vila’s stunning natural beauty, warm hospitality, and family-friendly amenities that the Holiday Inn Resort Vanuatu is known for.

Holiday Inn Resort Vanuatu: Phased Reopening and Important Accommodation Updates

The reopening will be conducted in phases to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all guests. Upon the reopening of the Seaside Wing, the Banyan Wing will temporarily close for renovations and enhancements, ensuring that all accommodations are refreshed and revitalised.

It’s important to note that all Family Villas and Overwater Villas will remain closed for a while longer as they undergo more extensive repairs. Therefore, if you have existing bookings between March 1 – July 31, 2025, the resort suggests considering a few options. You might want to think about postponing your trip to a later date when all the accommodation types are available. Alternatively, you could explore other options within the resort or at nearby properties. And of course, you can always cancel your booking without any penalty.
