To ensure international travellers have a happy, COVID-free holiday, the Hilton has partnered with none other than Reckitt to maintain ultra-high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety in its resorts worldwide. Therefore, it has unveiled a new programme called ‘Hilton CleanStay’ to make sure of the above.

This includes the many Hilton hotels and resorts in the South Pacific – for example, the Hilton Fiji Beach Resort, the Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort & Spa, the Hilton Noumea La Promenade Residences, the DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Hotel Fiji – Sonaisali Island and others. Let’s find out what has the new programme in store for travellers.

What’s Hilton CleanStay?

The Hilton CleanStay programme comprises a range of measures, modifications, and schedules to protect its guests and staff – already implemented across all its hotels and resorts. Broadly divided in several categories, the programme considers

  • Enhanced cleanliness in guestrooms
  • modified housekeeping schedules and service
  • New rules and enhanced cleanliness for public areas and amenities
  • Guidelines on F&B service
  • Hilton Honors App for contactless check-in and,
  • Hilton EventReady

Enhanced cleanliness in guestrooms

Hilton’s partner in cleanliness is none other than Reckitt (they make Lysol, Dettol, Sagrotan, Napisan, and many other household disinfectants that almost all the modern world is familiar with). The housekeeping room protocol includes removing all used items like bedding and towels, a full clean of the room and bathroom including vacuuming the carpet, mopping, and wiping down all surfaces with hospital-grade cleaners. Then, using Reckitt’s trusted products, the Hilton housekeeping does an additional disinfecting step for the room’s high-touch surfaces. After the room’s cleaning is done, fresh linens and towels are put in.

Modified housekeeping schedules and service

For more guest comfort, the Hilton has gone out of its way to be discreet as possible. Guests are invited to tailor their housekeeping services to their comfort level. To schedule, simply call the front desk. Additional amenities such as linens and toiletries are available upon request, delivered in protective packaging and placed at the guest room door.

New rules and enhanced cleanliness for public areas and amenities

Guests will find disinfecting stations with wipes and hand sanitizer available throughout Hilton properties. Additionally, both public and resort staff areas are cleaned at scheduled intervals, including hourly sanitisation of high-touch areas like elevators and bathrooms. They are cleaned using approved commercial-grade products followed by additional disinfection using the above-mentioned Reckitt products.

Also, masking is recommended and appreciated. (Double brownie points from us!)

New rules for COVID-safe dining on holidays.

Relaxing over a meal or drink is an important part of a holiday and ensuring guests can do so safely is a priority. Guests will notice some changes to Hilton’s usual coterie of services, but rest assured, they’re committed to offering the same great menus and social atmosphere you have come to expect from Hilton.

Changes to Hilton’s restaurant service include the spacing of tables and chairs to promote proper physical distancing between guests while maintaining increased hygiene standards. Also, the resort or hotel will offer biodegradable, disposable dishware, and flatware upon request. Grab & Go, pre-plated and individually portioned options may be offered as alternatives to open breakfast and buffet service. Where in-room dining is provided, contactless deliveries may replace rolling cart deliveries.

Also, Hilton encourages guests to take advantage of contactless food delivery by providing designated pick-up spots at each property.

The hotel chain has stepped up its contactless game to a rarefied level with its app. With this, you can just walk into the resort, and then to your suite/ villa and unlock it with an NFC ‘ding’. It’s literally as easy as that for travellers who want no contact via person or even keycards. We understand.

Hilton EventReady

To address safe group travel practices and evolve today’s event experience, the Hilton EventReady with CleanStay is the next phase of Hilton CleanStay. The programme expands on the elevated sanitation standards of the program, addressing every touch point of the meeting experience.

Understanding the importance of flexibility, Hilton will work together with event organisers to align on shared event objectives, providing flexible pricing, space options and contract terms, and the Hilton EventReady Playbook, which delivers expert guidance and curated resources for solutions. Each meeting and event experience is backed by Hilton hospitality from dedicated team members who aim to overdeliver on expectations from both the event professional and the attendees.

And with so many great properties in the South Pacific, such measures are indeed appreciated. For example, the Hilton Fiji Beach Resort is set on Denarau Island, bordering the Fijian mainland and is a full five-star luxury offering. While, on the other hand, the DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Hotel Fiji – Sonaisali Island is a boutique family-friendly resort set on its own island just half an hour from Nadi’s international airport. Hopping over to Tahiti and Her Islands, the Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort & Spa is the hotel chain’s beautiful beachfront paradise with overwater bungalows – its pictures are on another level, really.
