The hospitality giant has unveiled an entire roadmap of measures, precautions and safeguards to protect international travellers and its staff from COVID-19 infection. Read on to know more.
Accor Worldwide has pulled off the sheets on what’s nothing less than a book on keeping its guests and staff safe from COVID-19 and we’re here to highlight the salient points of the book – so you know you’re safe when holidaying in Fiji.
For starters, the Accor brand covers a lot of hotels and brand-names that are familiar to you in Fiji. For example, its new safety guidelines cover Mercure Nadi, Sofitel Fiji, Novotel Nadi, Pullman Nadi Bay Resort! As they put it, prioritising guest comfort and safety comes first for them for the past 50 years, the current times just put them in higher gear. Right from the time travellers enter the resort to when they bid adieu – the whole holiday cycle has been reviewed, pulled apart, studied for hygiene weakness and then put back together better and safer.
Accor has now established some of the most stringent cleaning standards & operational procedures in the world of hospitality to ensure guest safety as hotels reopen around the world.
These standards have been developed with and vetted by Bureau Veritas, a world leader testing inspections & certification. All hotels must apply these standards and every Accor hotel will be audited either by Accor operational experts or third-party auditors to achieve the new ALLSAFE label.
Founded in 1828, Bureau Veritas is a world leader in testing systems, their inspection and eventual certification. Bureau Veritas has vetted and supported Accor to define the new cleanliness standards and operating procedures developed in response to Covid-19. Bureau Veritas will also be responsible for auditing all Fijian Accor resort & hotels to ensure they comply with the ALLSAFE cleanliness standards.
Firstly, all staff across all Accor hotels and resort swill be trained in reinforced hygiene and safety protocols to prevent any lapse, inadvertent or not. Then, the new protocols include a reinforced cleaning programme with frequent disinfection of all high-touch areas like elevators and public restrooms. An enhanced in-room cleaning programme using hospital-grade cleaning materials will now be a standard across all Accor hotels. Regular deep cleaning will be carried out on upholstery and carpets and all bedding will be washed and treated at high temperatures.
Accor is implementing new standards to ensure social distancing measures throughout the hotel and specifically in hotel public areas. All restaurants, bars and seating in public areas will comply with government-mandated distancing measures. Guests will be able to purchase individual sanitisers, wipes and masks. Signage will be utilised throughout guest touchpoints to advise guests of the necessary restrictions.
Accor will also implement partitions at front desks to provide additional protection for all guests and staff. In addition, further hygiene will be ensured with the use of contactless payment solutions and desk-free check in wherever possible. And finally, Accor and AXA, a global leader in insurance, have announced an innovative strategic partnership to provide medical support to guests across all Accor hotels worldwide.
With its ALLSAFE hotels and resorts, Accor and Tourism Fiji is betting that the world will look towards this island nation and say, “It’s been too long – we need some bula spirit in our lives!” Check out Mercure Nadi, Sofitel Fiji, Novotel Nadi and Pullman Nadi Bay Resort to see pictures of them, accommodation options and our freshest Fiji holiday deals!
