Garden Island Resort

Reaching the Garden Island Resort is not a single-stop haul, but it isn’t daunting either. After landing at Fiji’s Nadi International Airport, travellers have a choice of either taking the leisurely boat service from Denarau or Suva or a quick domestic hop. After reaching Taveuni, the resort’s friendly car service will take you to Garden Island for check-in.

A boutique establishment, it has limited number of just 30 suites – all near the island’s stunning beachfront. The Oceanview Suites are excellent for families with four interconnected options, while the Oceanfront Suites are bang in front of the beach and perfect for couples and honeymooners. Each of the suites feature queen-sized beds, air-conditioning, ensuite bathroom with separate shower stalls, open-plan living area and a private patio with outdoor furniture. Additional amenities include a room safe, tea/coffee making facilities, WiFi, flatscreen TV, DVD player, satellite cable and a mini-fridge.

The Garden Island Resort also has a great restaurant and bar, but the main attraction lies in the absolute library of on-land activities and watersports travellers can ‘dive’ into. Set next to Somosomo Straits, it has over 30 world-class dive sites and a PADI-certified dive shop in-house. Our recommendation?
