Set just 19 kilometres from Nadi International Airport, the resort offers four categories of accommodations – there are dormitories with different levels of amenities and privacy, lodge rooms for couples looking for a ‘room with a view’, beachfront bures and air-conditioned oceanfront rooms. Except for the last, all other rooms and dorms are fan-cooled.
But the most sought-after places to snooze and rest invariably turn out to be the scores of hammocks lined up next to the beach and the gardens, where guests will be found reading a book with a chilled cocktail by the side or just enjoying the cool Pacific breezes ruffling the island.
With miles of coral reefs around the island, watersports is a perennial pleasure. Besides the usual suspects of swimming, snorkelling and kayaking in the island’s crystal-clear waters, guests can also indulge in jet skiing and banana boat-rides. Avid fishermen will happily spend days out on game fishing charters in and around the island’s little islets. The resort also operates a PADI 5-star dive training centre for newbies who wish to learn scuba-diving. Beside the above, it also organises a slew of water-sports and land-based activities and experiences. For adventure-lovers, paragliding is a fantastic option to get the adrenaline pumping. There’s also hand line fishing, crab races, beach volleyball and island hikes to take up hours and days of holidays. First time holidaymakers to Fiji, the resort organises lovo nights, which is basically evenings full of song, dance, wine and sumptuous Fijian-style feast – in a nutshell, must-experience.
