Resorts in Nadi
Gateway to Fiji
About Nadi
Hosting the busiest airport in Fiji, Nadi (pronounced ‘Na-n-di’) is a hub of activities, attractions, culture and general bonhomie.
It has one of the largest concentrations of population at little over 50,000 as well as the biggest group of hotels, shops, restaurants, bars and land/water sporting activities in the island nation. With a recently-renovated International Airport, Nadi (and in turn, Fiji itself) has become more accessible to the world.
Nadi - A Hub of Culture
Established as a township in 1947, Nadi grew as a melting pot of cultures, ethnicity, cuisines and religions over time to become today’s smorgasbord of visual and sensory delights. As a result, there is a great deal to see, shop and eat in Nadi. A walk down its high street will see travellers listening to Indian movie tunes, Chinese tracks and being serenaded by local shops to see their wares. Culturally, Nadi is a treasure-trove as it houses the biggest Hindu temple in the Southern Hemisphere, a mosque a few streets down and a plethora of churches. A visit to the Garden of the Sleeping Giant will enchant visitors with rare and profuse blooms of tropical orchids, a Fijian love-note from Hollywood actor Raymond Burr. Check out our blogs on culture, where we delve into anything and everything that make up the vibrant fabric of South Pacific culture.
Nadi - Gateway to Fiji
As a gateway town, it is also a launching point for great many tours, island escapes and activities. A short hop away is Denarau, a manmade island with top-notch luxury resorts, a bustling port and a host of charming restaurants, bistros and pubs perfect for clubbing. A recommendation: Do check out the kava bars. With several ‘noble varieties’ of yaqona, a kava session is a different experience in itself. What’s kava? You’d want to read our blog on kava, then.
The Mamanucas, a group of 20-odd ancient volcanic islands is also a jump and a skip away from Nadi. They are possibly the some of the most beautiful collection of islands with high volcanic peaks, lush tropical forests, waterfalls and white sand beaches.
Nadi - Cruises & Adventure
