From the Nadi International Airport, travellers must take a 2.5-3 hour ground transfer along the Coral Coast to Pacific Harbour. From there, Beqa Lagoon Resort’s own charter boat transfers the guests to the island in about 40 minutes. The scheduled boat transfer makes the inter-island crossing from Pacific Harbour at 11AM & 4:30PM and departs from Beqa Island to Pacific Harbour at 10AM. Outside this scheduled times, a charter boat may be arranged for an additional charge. During night (dark hours), the boat does not make the crossing for safety reasons. For any emergencies, contact the front desk immediately. Due to your flight arrival/departure times not aligning with the boat transfers, your consultants will offer a pre/post stay in Nadi so that you can have the boat transfer at the scheduled times.
Travellers can choose from the following accommodation options at the Beqa Lagoon Resort. The Koi Pond Bures and Garden Bures are set around the resort’s lush gardens and the fishponds, while the Beachfront Bures are set along the shoreline with private courtyard and cool dipping pool. For small groups and families who want to spread out, there’s the Two-Bedroom Ocean-View Suites! All units come with a king-size bed, and can accommodate two or three adults, or a couple with two kids, comfortably.  Two-Bedroom Ocean-View Suites can be with a balcony or patio and both has an amazing view of the ocean and lush gardens.  Koi Pond Bures and Garden Bures can sleep either two to three adults only or a family of two adults & two children (children 11 yrs and younger).  The ensuite bathrooms are large, spacious and feature separate showers, well-lit vanity mirrors, plush linens and toiletries. Check out the resort’s room descriptions above for pictures and more details!
The resort’s Bure Kalou is set in a traditional Fijian nakamal-style hut, inspired by the central community hut in villages. It’s a massive structure, open on all sides with high-vaulted, thatched roof, seasoned timber framework and plenty of seating. The restaurant sources all its produce from the neighbouring villages, and the seafood is supremely fresh, most of it being catch of the day. The resort does offer imported Kiwi lamb and Australian beef, along with a deep wine list. Since the island is remote, the recommended meal plan includes a wide variety of cuisines. Patrons can dig into continental and international fare, along with Asian, Indian, and local island cuisines too!
Beqa Lagoon Resort’s isolation plays into its silky-white beaches being crowd-free, and the waters being liquid glass. A good number of holidaymakers spend their days exploring the protected house reefs with complimentary fins and snorkels, then the beach to relax, the pool bar for a pick-me-up and then rinse and repeat. And that seems like a perfectly sound holiday strategy to us. That being said, the island has stunning diving sites, and it’s often counted amongst the world’s best scuba-diving and snorkelling hotspots. With over 190 km of dictionary-perfect coral reefs and more than 10 jaw-dropping sites like Frigate Wall, Carpet Cove, Seven Sisters and more, experienced divers can spend weeks exploring the region. New to diving? The resort has its own five-star rated PADI training centre, and has full sets of diving gear, nitrox refillers and instructors who know the deeps from their childhood. Yes, most of the staff are locals and the Beqa Lagoon Resort has a stellar reputation of ecological and cultural conservation. Speaking of, the resort organises regular cultural evenings and highly recommend attending them. If you get invited to a kava night, do sign up for a riotously fun evening. What’s kava, you ask? Chek out our blog on everything you want to know about kava! Then, there’s hiking around the island, island picnics, a trek to the Nawaisomo waterfalls, paddleboarding, and more. The resort also has activities and experiences tailored for families and kids, and before you ask – they do have child sitting available!
