The Barefoot Manta Island Resort Fiji is set on the picturesque Drawaqa Island in the Yasawa chain of islands in Fiji. After landing at Nadi International Airport, travellers will have to take a short cab-ride to the Denarau Port marina, and take the scheduled catamaran transfer to the island. Alternately, guests can also choose an exciting private speedboat or a seaplane to reach the island in style.
In line with its eco-first philosophy, all of the accommodations are air-cooled with large windows and ceiling fans. For young travellers and those on a budget, the resort has two (one exclusively for girls) large, dormitory-style tent set-up just steps away from the beach. The latter are set on the aptly-named Sunrise Beach, and offer a choice of a queen bed and single beds. Moving up the ladder, the travellers can choose between Queen Bures, Large Bures and the Beachfront Island Bure. Check out room descriptions, and pictures above for a better idea.
This is where the resort shines – the water activities are as impressive as they’re numerous. The resort is named after the pods of manta rays that flock to the island’s warm waters. Swimming, snorkelling and kayaking are deceptively fun and will take up days. Before you know, your holiday will draw to a close – just ask some of our advisors! Take in enough days, really. Then, the gold standard is diving off the deeper waters where travellers can really soak in Fiji’s reputation as the soft coral capital of the world. On land, the resort organises daily activities like traditional Fijian cooking classes, weaving lessons, village visits, kava sessions and so on.
